For use with Zenworks 4:
msiexec.exe /i "\\Ofzen\ZEN\install\Acrobat7Pro\AcroPro.msi"
/QR TRANSFORMS="1031.mst"

That works for me.

Notes: Shared "notes from the field" covering how to handle the automated installation of this software.

Adobe just released InstallShield Tuner 7.0 for Adobe Acrobat. A few more features than the 6.0 release. Many of the registry hacks mentioned in the 6.0 notes can now be accomidate with the new release. See http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2709

For entities with multiple distribution points watch out for 2203 installation errors. This error seems to be a short coming of the InstallShield product. See

The MSI includes a very nice uninstall for the 6.x family of Adobe products. If you have any 5.x you're going to need a script to uninstall before installing 7.x

Installs fine with tuner to all my clients through GPO. Still need to activate locally though. Unless someone can script this.

For Corporate deployment, Adobe offers the "Open Options" volume license verison, which does not require activation.

Whenever I tried to install (with Zenworks) I got a generic "error" message. I found on google groups that people trying to deploy with GP had a similar issue and had to put their serial number in an Adcpy.ini file. Once this was added in the install performed flawlessly.

If you have a "My Documents" folder that is redirected to anything else then the default location you wont be able to Add new PDF settings through Distiller (Settings -> Add Adobe-PDF Settings (CTRL-Shift-E)). According to Adobe this is by Design and redirecting of "My Documents" folder is not supported. As of yet I have not been able to find a way to bypass this.

After encountering problems applying the Patches 7.05/7.07 and 7.08 on clients with no administrative rights, I finally decided to do an administrative installation. Then patched the admin install (msiexec /p ".msp" /a ".msi"). That way I have no problems on clients with no administrative rights because they straight install version 7.08.

When the next patch is released, I will update the admin installation first and then update the clients.
(msiexec /i {GUID} REINSTALL=vomus REINSTALL=ALL)

If you modify the original MSI there is a problem with inputing the serial number. This is because the property for the serial number is incorrect. The original has ISX_SERIALNUM where it should be changed to ISX_SERIALNUMBER. Otherwise you will receive the non descript "error" message listed above by gcballard

You can disable the yahoo- and websearch button by pasting the following text in a new file C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat\Javascripts\disable_yahoo.js:

==================================
//This hides the Yahoo toolbarbutton.

app.hideToolbarButton("WebSearchView");

//This hides the menu item View>Toolbars>Search the Internet

app.hideMenuItem("ShowHideToolbarWebSearchView");
