How to locate and install Windows Installer SDK is covered including just what features of the Windows SDK should be selected to obtain the Windows Installer tools, scripts and documentation. One tool provided by the SDK to help with log file interpretation is WiLogUtil which is demonstrated in detail.

 

ORCA also provides some helpful tools for creating (and identifying changes made by) transform files and includes an ICE validation tool which takes you to the place in the MSI database where any warnings or errors are identified.
