This video covers some different integration points for formalizing the inclusion of "community research" as a valuable step in your package development process. It covers the different integration points offered by the AppDeploy website including site RSS feeds and a custom XML feed for leveraging the Package Knowledge base in a custom tool (even in a disconnected environment). Examples including an HTA application that takes advantage of this XML feed are discussed as well.

After framing the benefits and ways to go about integration, the video goes on to offer where to obtain the regularly updated Package KB XML data file and sample HTA script.

 

A quick review of the open source HTA script is provided along with a quick run through the VBScript code that makes it work. The video even offers a way to generate script code for reading from XML files in VBScript, PowerShell and other COM languages.
