This training video introduces the viewer to Windows Installer AppSearch and how it may be used. The demonstrations provided utilize Wise Package Studio covering- creating a System Search entry, showing the value of the AppSearch property in a Windows Installer Dialog, using AppSearch as a condition for a custom action and using AppSearch with LaunchCondition.

This video describes the Windows Installer AppSearch feature including what it is and what it can do for you. Notes on each of the actions taken are provided along with the video as a PDF file for your reference (see below).

While the principle applies to any MSI authoring software, the video demonstrates how to use AppSearch with Package Studio including how to check for minimum requirements and how to look for and display a file path or registry value.
